Workshop: Hands-On with the BDD & Cucumber Test Automation

Learn how to take your testing to the next level using the concepts of BDD, and one of the many tools you can use to implement it (Cucumber).

Are you facing challenges in your development team in coding and testing to the spec? What if you could have just one artifact? How would you do that?

In our workshop, learn collaboration techniques that help teams use the automated tests as both executable specifications (before coding) and documentation of the implemented system (after coding). Although there are other BDD tools that you can use, we will focus on Cucumber. Cucumber is a test automation tool that combines specifications, tests (scenarios), and documentation into a centralized location.

Workshop Takeaways:

  • Teach the fundamental skills that make BDD and Specification by Example a success.
  • Understand the standards for Gherkin and writing step definition code.
  • How to configure your machine.
  • How to write great Gherkin specifications with Cucumber.
  • How to execute those specifications locally and in the cloud (Sauce Labs).
