Keynote: How Nancy Drew Prepared Me to Become a Software Tester

Karen (like many of us) grew up reading Nancy Drew mysteries. The mysteries, the adventures, and the sleuthing of it all! She and her two best friends loved Nancy Drew so much they attempted to write a novel in the same mystery-writing direction when they were just 12 years old. All that sense of investigation permeated their bones and years later Karen recognizes how the irresistible thrill derived from solving mysteries is helpful in being a tester. Join Karen for a somewhat nostalgic but definitely inspirational presentation from the perspective of “Yes, I’m a tester – indeed, I solve “mysteries!” The parallels between the thrill-seeking detective and today’s software tester will be enlightening.
